Sugar, Salt, and Faith

First of all, a shoutout to my readers in Iowa, whoever you are. I’ve had seven visits this last month from your state, so I don’t know if it’s one person who keeps coming back or a gaggle of beef farmers finding my blog all at once. Whoever you are, I salute you.

Over the last several months, I’ve spent a good amount of time hitting the comments section of YouTube. There are nearly endless waves of good Christian people who pop in with, “I’ve been dealing with awful attacks lately, please pray for me,” or “My anxiety is at an all time high and I just want to feel closer to God.” And me, being me, naturally, I barge my way in and give actual, practical, real-world advice that struggling Christians can use.

  • Cut sugar, fast food, soda, and all junk from your diet.

  • Start eating a diet high in protein and animal fat.

  • Increase your salt intake with quality mineral salt.

  • Start lifting heavy.

Some people are interested and want to know more. Others are dubious. “I agree with a lot of what you just said, but why would I increase salt? Very much doubt you on this.”

Sure, you can doubt me all you want, but I have a story about two very sick people- my grandfather, and myself.

My grandfather began to have kidney issues in his midlife. His doctor told him to avoid salt, for his kidney issues. And, with Grandma being a nurse, he dutifully used his “salt substitute” for thirty or more years, and hardly ever ate salt. But here’s the problem- without salt, your kidneys can’t flush waste, and doctors actually haven’t figured this out. The ones who have like Dr. Bryan Ardis, who speak up about it, are censored and mocked. Therefore, my grandfather spent the last years of his life hooked to a dialysis machine, because his kidneys died. *If you look up Dr. Bryan Ardis and salt, you’ll see both his material AND about ninety different articles saying he’s lying.

But- mainstream doctors killed my grandfather. Dr. Ardis would have saved him. So the proof is in the pudding.

Who is the second sick person?

ME.

Knowing what I know about the medical industry, I know that the entire job of doctors, whether they know it or not, is to generate profits for the machine. They advise lifestyle and dietary changes that will ensure the patient will come back for pills in a year or two to “manage” what those changes caused. They do not know they are doing this. They are helplessly brainwashed and 300k in debt. They refuse to believe they are causing the problems because they took an oath to do no harm. They legitimately do not know any better.

So when I was sick and trying to get better, I learned about a woman named Barbara O’Neill. She’s a lovely English lady who knows absolutely everything about the human body and how to heal it. She discussed salt and said that 99% of our table salt is stripped of all the mineral nutrients that we need, so even if we DO eat more salt, the boring table salt will actually kill you faster because it’s missing 90-something key minerals that the human body actually needs. And I bought some Celtic sea salt, and I started heavily salting my food with it.

My face immediately began to look younger because I was properly hydrated, I needed less lip balm and hand lotion, and my general health became better, within 30 days. And that was when I realized that my beloved grandfather had been murdered by the medical system he and my grandmother trusted. Which is the exact point when I began to do all of the opposite that doctors tell people to do: I ate more eggs, more butter, more heavy cream, more red meat, and more salt.

As a result, I am now staring down my forty second birthday, and I don’t look older than 30. I went from actively schizophrenic with a horrible inflammation problem to the best health of my life.

All by doing the exact opposite of what doctors recommend. This is why I know what I know.

Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth.” He said that for a reason. Salt is and has always been a huge and natural part of our diet. We need it. We need minerals that only salt can give us. Without those minerals, we begin to malfunction.

Now let’s talk about sugar- if salt is God’s medicine, sugar is the devil’s poison. I will absolutely stand, shoot, and die on this hill.

Doctors might tell a diabetic to watch his candy bars, sure, but all other patients? I read medical records for years. Trust me, doctors aren’t generally recommending that people eat less sugar. It’s not in the records. Doctors will tell a person to eat less salt, red meat, butter and eggs before they tell them not to eat sugar. If these doctors had any sense at all, they would be forbidding their patients from ever eating a candy bar again.

How does sugar relate to faith? You bet I’m about to tell you.

If 1 Corinthians 3:16 is to be believed, we humans are quite literally the temple where God dwells. So what does that mean, I hear you ask? It means, if you want God’s everlasting peace within you, you must cultivate a space where that peace is compatible.

Embark on an exercise with me. Imagine a bright, shiny house of worship. Think Notre Dame Cathedral or similar. Imagine it polished, and shiny, and in perfect condition, inside and out. Do you think God dwells there, happily, peacefully? Of course. Now, in your mind, imagine that same cathedral full of trash. Rotten food everywhere, soda bottles, graffiti on the walls, bugs everywhere. Will God place His presence there? I mean, you tell me. If you were the Creator of the Heavens and Earth, would you live like Oscar the Grouch?

Apply this to your life. Sugar is more addictive than cocaine. But notice that it’s everywhere, and in everything. It’s in your crackers, it’s in your salad dressings, there’s 96 spoonfuls of sugar in a Crumble Iced Java Latte thing, and no one ever talks about it. Sugar is just a part of our everyday lives, and please consider that the devil operates through deception. If everyone around you loudly demonizes red meat and salt, you look there and say, “Okay, I’ll avoid it,” while hoovering Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. You legitimately aren’t thinking about it, and then wonder why you are tired, bloated, and anxious all the time.

So when you are filling your children’s stockings at Christmastime this year, really look at what you are giving them. Think about the fact that what you are giving them “as a treat” will set them up for a lifetime of neurological problems. It will give them anxiety and attention problems. Do what my mom did and never let your kids have sugar. Ever. (thanks, Mom).

*For treat swaps, I highly recommend perusing Choczero.com. They make all sorts of candy bars with monkfruit. I gave ChocZero monkfruit candy away on Halloween last year. I slept better as a result.

Most of us, as humans, are full of garbage. We live on Monster energy drinks, Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes (50 grams of sugar each), candy bars, fast food (Subway’s bread has enough sugar to be considered legally cake, FYI). We fill ourselves with garbage instead of the Holy Spirit. We pray and read the Bible, and can’t figure out why we still feel stuck. Do you not remember that Jesus said to “Fast and Pray”? A good 3-day fast will completely reset your immune system, remember. And when you go back to eating, that soda or caramel will taste like chemical garbage because you have recalibrated your taste buds. You will want red meat, butter, eggs, fruits and vegetables. And those are the things you SHOULD be eating. They come directly from God. God made them. Man didn’t.

Some might get offended at what I am about to say, but prayer and reading your Bible does absolutely NOTHING if you take no practical action to change your life. Do you pray for a drowning person, or do you jump in and save them? Most of you are drowning, or watching someone drowning, and praying about it instead of doing something about it.

Try a Whole 30 challenge (eating only whole, single- ingredient foods for 30 days- they omit dairy but I think dairy is essential, up to you). Start lifting weights. Stop giving excuses. God gave you a perfectly healthy body and you trash it when you drink soda and eat fast food, then sit on the couch all night. I mean, I’m guilty of that myself, I played about ten hours of Skyrim this week. But you know what I also did? I did 3 sets of 105 lb deadlifts and I did pull-ups at the gym. I worked my rear with exercise bands so hard that I hurt for three days afterwards. I ate more than a dozen eggs this week and did pushups. Later today, I’m about to go back to the gym to see if I can break my previous squat record. On average, I go to the gym three times per week, and lift heavy for 20-40 minutes each time. I get at least a good solid hour at least of pushing my body’s limits so that I can become stronger and healthier, every single week. I do not take weeks off. I do not say “eh, not today.” I sometimes show up at 5:30 in the morning and do it before work. I am committed, and once you become committed to becoming God’s vessel here on Earth, nothing can stop you.

Once you do this, God will consistently show up in your life in small ways. You’ll find a $20 on the ground on the day before payday when your gas is low. You find a single pack of tenderloin steaks in the half-off bin the day you’re really craving a good steak (this literally happened to me today.) You have JUST enough of an ingredient left for a recipe. You think your paycheck is late, panic because you have a dental appointment to pay for, and then it shows in your bank 5 minutes before you have to leave. My life is full of things like this. This is why I never worry where God is in my life. Everywhere, all around me, through me, inside and out.

I am literally the temple where God dwells, and He dwells in me happily. I feel His power. I feel His presence daily. I am His hands and feet. I feel no disconnection, no anxiety, no depression. I have no physical problems of any kind anymore.

All because I cut sugar, ate more animal fats, increased my salt, and started lifting heavy. I cleared the trash from my temple and restored it to its former glory.

Your food will be your quickest path to Heaven or your slowest descent into hell.

You choose.
